All prints made after February 2005 are made on the Epson 2200 printer with Ultrachrome pigmented inks.  These inks maintain the high resistance to water and light found with pigment-based inks (Epson 2000p) while providing a rich array of color provided by the dye-based inks (Epson 1280).  The Ultra chrome inks have superb longevity when printed on coated Epson or Epson-compatible papers and framed behind glass.

The new Canvas Giclees are printed on water-resistant and archival coated canvas that is dry-mounted for framing, or stretched for the SquareS.

Ratings conducted by the independent lab of Wilhelm Imaging Research (www.wilhelm-research.com) show the behind-glass/no glass ratings on these papers:

  • Epson Radiant White Watercolor Paper (90 years/66years) - wood-pulp based matte

  • Epson Enhanced Matte (64 years/41 years)

  • Epson Velvet Fine Art (61 years/34 years) - acid-free, 100% cotton base matte

  • Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper (roll) (71 years/48 years) - resin-coated paper

  • PremiereArt for Epson water-resistant Canvas (roll) (85 years/60 years)

Special Edition Giclees are printed on a 100% acid-free watercolor-type paper such as Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper, or Hahnemuhle German Etching Paper.  New papers are also introduced on occasion, with the aim of printing on the finest paper available.  These papers are heavier in weight and more expensive.  They are also matted and backed with acid-free board.
Frames - hand-painted and distressed in various colors on heavy poplar moulding. (See image) Prices are in addition to the Giclee' prices.
